7827, Upgrade for Leading Edge...

I had a motherboard failure a couple of weeks ago and I decided that rather than replace, I would rebuild as an upgrade. Here are some shots taken in order as I proceeded along the path after my big box from ChillBlast arrived:-

Well here is the big box as...

...I open and...

...unpack it.

Opening the motherboard box.

I have removed, from the case, all the bits that are to be replaced.

Here is the new PSU fitted.

This gives a better idea of the size and location of the PSU fan.

The new mother board is fitted and the CPU and cooler are fitted to it.

It is a very big cooler and in fact I had to remove it again later and refit it after sliding the mobo into the case.

Now the triple channel memory is installed.

And an enormous graphics card.

It is an Nvidia GeForce GTX 285 1024MB PCIe card.

I took that big handle off the end of it after sliding it all into the case.

Here is a view of all that from overhead.

All working now and with my full FS9 reinstated.

Now I'm busy installing all the other stuff.

Yesterday I followed the fishing boats as they went down Russell Fjord, past the Hubbard Glacier and out to sea...The frame rate was almost constant at 75 FPS.
I'm rather delighted with it all :-shiny
